About the Role


Peanuts Worldwide is seeking an Intellectual Property Paralegal to join our dedicated team, providing crucial support to our Peanuts Worldwide group! Reporting directly to the SVP of Business & Legal Affairs, this role will play a key part in building and protecting on a global basis the Peanuts brand. As the Intellectual Property Paralegal, the candidate will specialize in global brand protection and enforcement and anti-counterfeiting efforts for consumer goods and services and media.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with brand protection and anti-piracy enforcement, and monitor and verify overall anti-counterfeiting measures
  • Manage development and maintenance of various brand enforcement strategies including preparing draft letters and takedown notices from templates
  • Manage domestic and international customs clearance requests including liaising with account executives, agents and licensees
  • Assist Business & Legal Affairs team and liaise with outside legal counsel in managing trademark opposition and cancellation actions, managing and updating trademark portfolios, providing support on trademark and copyright infringement and other enforcement actions, collecting and organizing information and materials from various sources, communicating with internal stakeholders
  • Take ownership of assignments related to intellectual property processes, manage timelines, and ensure deadlines are met in a fluid and fast-paced global work environment
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned

Qualifications


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal associate degree or other relevant certification required with a strong interest in intellectual property
  • Experience working in the Licensing or Intellectual Property field an asset
  • Excellent drafting, organizational and time management skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple complex, confidential files and to provide excellent service to internal and global clients
  • Ability to work easily with changing priorities, timelines and processes, and to prioritize workload and problem solve
  • Extensive computer and database experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required
