Under general supervision, the People & Organization (Human Resources) Coordinator/ Backlot Admin facilitates critical human resource processes for the Sony Pictures Animation productions and provides assistance to P&O Business Partner. This position performs a wide variety of duties within a framework set by the HR department to include confidential data request, reporting, operational, administrative and project support. Sony Pictures Animation is a pre-production animation studio based in Culver City, California, creating both feature animation and animated series with artists from around the world. Responsibilities:

  • Manage & process employee data changes in Workday such as: salary changes, promotions, transfers, supervisor changes, title changes, terminations, contract submissions, cost center changes, payment requests, overrides, work schedule changes, opening job requisitions, etc.
  • Manage, audit & distribute reports such as: union reports, severance reports & rosters
  • Connect with payroll, production, legal, recruiting, artist management and other P&O (HR) departments across Sony Pictures Entertainment
  • Provide support to the P&O Business Partners on transactions and ad hoc projects
  • Assist with creation of spreadsheets in excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP for analysis
  • Find opportunities to improve and streamline HR administrative processes

Qualifications:

  • Relevant education or experience in Human Resources and/or production backlot administration

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to work in Microsoft Word, Excel (critical), Outlook, Powerpoint, Google Suite, Workday, Sharepoint
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality and discretion
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must be diligent
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – written and oral (must have a professional and courteous demeanor
  • Experience working in production entertainment

The anticipated base salary for this position is $24/hour - $29/hour. This role qualifies for benefits pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors.
