Position Overview
The MLB Gaming & VR group drives the development, publishing, and licensing of Video Game and VR products for Major League Baseball. Located in the MLB Headquarters in New York City, the Coordinator, Business Development will collaborate with internal groups, licensing, and retail partners to assist in managing the current business and assist in generating new revenue opportunities for the MLB Games and VR group. Reporting to the Product Manager, Games & VR, the Coordinator, Business Development is a hands-on role that will support the strategy, planning, and execution of new business opportunities for Major League Baseball.
Essential Functions
- Work with internal and external marketing teams to support specific business functions on key licensed products.
- Support the day-to-day contract process to assist Business Development efforts.
- Manage day-to-day communications with current and prospective license partners.
- Support retail and digital channel efforts relating to MLB The Show annual video game releases
- Assist in qualifying new business revenue generating opportunities for the Games and VR group
Qualifications and Skills
- 2-4 or more years of relevant experience in B2B setting with focus on interactive entertainment is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, or equivalent field [Advanced degree or certification(s) is a plus.]
- Proven track record of managing project timelines
- Experience with highly sensitive or confidential information
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity and affinity with the video game industry
- An understanding and appreciation of the history and culture of the sport of baseball
Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $62,500 - $67,500
