Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Audio Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be producing live audio for government meetings for broadcast television and web-streaming. The Engineer is responsible for mixing all live audio using a Soundcraft audio board.


This is a part time position. Productions are 1-2 times a week with most productions taking place Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.


Typically hours are 7:30 am to 6 pm. There are occasional Thursday and Friday productions as well with an average of 4-10 shifts per month. Overtime is paid for shifts going over 8 hours.


Location is onsite in downtown Los Angeles.


Compensation:

$50 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain audio equipment. Properly mix live audio, remote sources and videos for broadcast.
  • Technical Support: Provide timely equipment troubleshooting and reporting to our engineering team to ensure uninterrupted broadcasts.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain equipment records, track issues, and uphold quality control standards for seamless broadcasting.
  • Collaboration: Thrive in a team-oriented environment, collaborating effectively with colleagues to further enhance the broadcast experience for staff members.
  • Communication: Demonstrate clear and concise communication skills with staff, maintaining a professional work environment and adhering to a business casual dress code.
Qualifications:
  • Must have expert level knowledge and experience with Soundcraft products.
  • Must have experience mixing live events.
  • Previous experience in audio production, broadcasting, live streaming audio/visual, and video production is essential.
  • Experienced with Biamp.
  • Familiarity with broadcast equipment is helpful. Products such as Ross Ultrix, Crestron control, production routers, switchers and graphics software.
  • Some experience with PTZ camera operations.
  • Professionalism, solid transportation, punctuality, and a commitment to scheduled dates are non-negotiable attributes.
  • Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in broadcasting, television production, or a related field is preferred.
