As a Senior Financial Accounting Analyst in Disney Entertainment (DE), you will help shape Disney’s future in the company’s newest and most dynamic segment. DE brings together the Company’s best-in-class product, technology, and commercialization teams into one global organization. DE is responsible for the P&L management and all distribution, network and engineering operations, sales, advertising, data, and certain key technology functions worldwide for the Company's content engines. DE also manages operations of the Company's streaming services including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Disney+ Hotstar; and domestic broadcast and cable television networks.
Responsibilities of the Role:
Primary subject matter expert of the revenue cycle for Domestic TV & Film content markets for Distribution COE (Center of Excellence)
Maintain completeness and accuracy between content rights management and accounting systems by identifying and reconciling discrepancies as needed, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Prepare quarterly P&L close package for Worldwide Episodic content, including variance explanations versus forecast and prior year results
Partner with Deal Planning & Analysis, finance, and legal teams to properly manage Domestic AdVod, SVOD, PayTV, and Free TV/Basic Cable businesses, accounting for related revenue and expenses
Evaluate weekly revenue preview activity (from Front of House) to be posted to SAP
Calculate quarterly ASC 606 Domestic PayTV & FreeTV broken window & step up revenue transactions and assist with reporting disclosures
Leverage systems to drive efficiencies on deliverables
Assist with all internal and external audits (PwC, Sox, MA, Talent Audit, etc…)
Work on ad/hoc projects as they arise
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounting and/or financial reporting
Strong understanding of accounting processes and internal controls
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, basic IF formulas, etc.)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Must be an excellent team player who possesses strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Demonstrate strong quantitative and analytical skills
Self-driven, takes initiative
Exhibit a willingness to be adaptable and flexible
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA
Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Entertainment Industry Experience
Previous experience in revenue management department
Experience working with SAP
Experience in variance analysis and utilizing reporting tools
The hiring range for this position in California is $101,800.00 to $124,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
