Disney Streaming is a business unit within The Walt Disney Company’s Disney Entertainment (DE) segment that includes all consumer-facing digital video subscription services across the company. Our core mission is to deliver global audiences the freedom to access content on their terms across any connected device, time or location.

DE’s DTC FPA Team is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Disney+ Business Reporting + Insights team. This role will be focused on subscriber reporting and growth insights extraction, and responsible for compiling reports and ad-hoc analyses for stakeholders at various levels of the business, focused on subscriber acquisition and growth metrics.

What You Will Do

The Senior Financial Analyst will closely collaborate with our Analytics team by maintaining an automated reporting infrastructure which will help to identify and quantify the drivers of subscriber growth. Ad hoc analysis will also be key in providing rapid insights to business stakeholders, including operations, marketing, and finance. Synthesis of impactful reports and ad-hoc insights will require both understanding of our data structure and metric definitions, and the ability to distill business implications and insights into actionable narratives to inform our strategic and tactical decision making.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Update weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews and provide relevant context for business reviews with leadership

  • Work cross-functionally with key partners on operational teams to develop business insights that uncover subscriber growth levels and opportunities to improve customer value

  • Define business requirements for reporting structure working closely with analytics department to automate the generation of recurring business insights.

  • Collaborate with analytics to ensure alignment between analytics’ databases and finance department’s forecasting and reporting data

  • Develop impactful, compelling presentation materials (decks, notes, write-ups, backup materials, etc.) that effectively communicates financial projections, drivers, business performance, risks and opportunities to leadership

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years of relevant finance experience in media, direct-to-consumer subscription, management/strategy consulting, investment banking or similar fields

  • Expert Excel and analytical skills; extensive experience building operating models and analyzing large data sets

  • High level of proficiency with PowerPoint; ability to distill complex analyses into structured outputs and present to all levels of management

  • Ability to work cross functionally, managing many stakeholders and building relationships throughout the company

  • Deliverable-focused, extremely organized, strong work ethic, able to prioritize and manage timelines, and resolve an array of issues simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Looker

  • Experience with SQL or other relational database querying a plus

Education

  • BA/BS (focus on Finance, Economics or other quantitative field a plus)

The hiring range for this position in New York is $104,300.00 to $130,300.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
