Your New Role…
- Drafting, processing and negotiation of contracts, in particular those relating to licensing or media law, in German and English in the following areas:
- Content production: Drafting and reviewing co-production, production service, finance, pre-sales and development agreements based on the terms agreed by the business affairs executive in Germany.
- Channel distribution: Responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating channel distribution and commercial agreement for WBD’s free television, pay television and/or on demand services in GSA. Ensuring best practice and consistency of drafting and contract terms, knowledge sharing and strong communications
- Ad sales: Drafting, reviewing and negotiating ad sales agreements with advertisers and agencies for WBD’s free television, pay television and/or on demand services in GSA. Advising on advertisement regulations and ensuring best practice and compliance with relevant adverting regulations.
- Compliance: Management of the compliance specialist teams (youth protection and on-air compliance) to ensure compliance with German media regulation for the channels and services licensed out of Germany, including being the point of contact for the regulator. Ensuring that all of WBD business activity in Germany is fully compliant with company policies and compliance programs, including without limitation the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Policies.
- Day to day legal advice on their distinct practice areas including drafting, negotiating, advising clients and being able to communicate clearly and concisely also to senior management. Ability to challenge ideas proposed and advise on conflicts. Providing commercial and practical legal advice.
- Reading up on latest legal developments, industry opinion, attending seminars etc. Proactively educating clients on development in the law or practice which could impact them, and setting up and running compliance programmes (eg data protection, competition, corporate governance). Having a clear understanding of European law and the impact on WBD’s business, ensuring contracts are updated to reflect legislative changes. Monitoring and updating local and regional management on all relevant legal and regulatory developments.

Skills and Qualifications…
- Successfully completed law studies (1st and 2nd state examinations)
- Sound legal knowledge of German law with a focus on media law and knowledge of data protection law and IT law
- First professional experience desired
- Confident and convincing appearance
- Team-oriented, independent and precise way of working
- Flexibility, ability to work under pressure and service orientation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and international environment
- Very good command of written and spoken German & English
