Your New Role…
This position entails work on a large scale of legal matters of the local WBD business. All the responsibilities are managed under the guidance of the Legal Director with accountability and with management skills of several internal clients and requests. In addition, the candidate must show great flexibility in adapting to the fast change of the company environment, new activities to be managed, dealing with new colleagues and new areas of business.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Support to the Legal Director on affiliate agreements for the distribution of WBD networks, ensuring full alignment with central legal team;
  • Provide legal advice on audiovisual Spanish regulation, or the main applicable regulation, to the different departments of the company;
  • Support to draft and negotiate ad-sales agreements (including framework agreements with media agencies and/or clients etc.);
  • Full support to the local Ad-Sales team, including advise on compliance and applicable regulation to different campaigns included in the audiovisual services managed by the company  (payTV, digital, HbbTV etc.), analysis and provision of advice on compliance in relation to advertisement initiatives (special campaigns, branded content, product placement, on field events etc.);
  • Full legal support to the local marketing team in the different campaigns managed;
  • Support to the central production legal team on the applicable regulation in relation to non-scripted productions;
  • Occasionally draft or review services agreements for the different departments of the company;
  • Supervision and legal advice on the local digital networks of the company (websites, social networks, digital audiovisual services etc.), including data protection compliance;
  • Monitor and analyze new local rules and regulation applicable to the business in the country and evaluate potential impact + support and coordinating other departments inputs in elaborating company position;
  • Support on the relationships with local collecting societies, review of relevant existing agreements and responsibility to ensure timely and fully reporting activities;
  • Manage potential litigation and pre-litigation matters, coordinating the communication with Legal Litigation central team;
  • Corporate matters regarding to local legal entities.

Skills and Qualifications… 

  • Must be a qualified lawyer with at least 2-3 years of work experience
  • Any course, master or similar on IP, or audiovisual law, or digital law, or data protection regulation would be appreciated
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Well organised and attention to detail: this role requires focus and energy to ensure that nothing falls between the cracks. 
  • Good commercial knowledge essential – must have a deep understanding of the impact that deals potentially have on other revenue streams to involve other parts of the business as appropriate. 
  • Pragmatic. 
  • Will be a key provider of day-to-day support to the business so must be a good team player, and have flexible, hands-on approach. 
  • English and Spanish must be fluent.  Portuguese is a plus.
