Director of Physical Production (Remote)

Legacy Pictures is looking for a Director of Physical Production! Legacy Pictures is an award-winning production and production services company that oversees the pre-production, production, and post-production of full-length features to docuseries and short-form branded content. Legacy has developed a global network and is a go-to for producers, studios, brands, and platforms seeking creative and production support. 


In this role, you will be part of the company's core leadership team and work closely with the company CEO. As the Director of Physical Production, you will drive the project management and the operational model of the project's lifecycle as well as manage the Physical Production internal team and external crew.

What you do


  • Organize meetings with networks, studios, and companies
  • Organize potential crew
  • Oversee all aspects of pre-production and on-set production
  • Organize tax incentives and insurance information
  • Define and monitor the production processes and actively seek improvement to gain efficiency and better quality
  • Ensure transparent and active communication towards the project's core leadership team, interns, and coordinators
  • Organize intern programming and satisfaction
  • Create complete budgets according to client expectations
  • Advise and lead budget conversations during the pitch phase in partnership with the creative team
  • Budget management and oversight including processing invoices
  • Manage projects timelines in partnership with creative and/or post-production teams
  • Manage multiple production jobs at the same time from concept, hiring, project planning, directors, casting, and post-production 
  • Keeping a fresh roster of production partners in partnership with the creative team and through the lens of each editorial brand
  • Management of shoot days
  • Managing crew contracts and usage agreements
  • Management of deliverables to the post-production team
  • Understanding of key legal requirements, including rights relating to licensing, releases and contracts
  • Up-to-date knowledge on Health and Safety and insurance requirements
  • Arrangement of visas and other international permissions

  • Several years of experience in physical production
  • Leadership/ management experience
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present your ideas in a clear and coherent way
  • Fluent English skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • High motivation and capacity to learn new skills, use new tools, and meet new people
