We are looking for a Marketing Manager to join the Random House Children’s Books Trade Marketing team to assist in the development and execution of marketing materials and campaigns across the board book and picture book list. Random House Children’s Books is home to bestselling and award-winning trade authors and illustrators from Suzanne and Max Lang (creators of the Grumpy Monkey series) and Jill McDonald (Hello, World!) to Emily Winfield Martin (The Wonderful Thing You Will Be), Bess Kalb and Erin Kraan (Buffalo Fluffalo), Sophie Blackall (Ahoy!) and more.


Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Marketing Manager will work closely with the School & Library Marketing, Audience Engagement, and Publicity teams to develop materials and execute cohesive plans to reach booksellers and parents of young readers with the intent of creating awareness and driving sales.


Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns for select frontlist and backlist Board and Picture Book titles

  • Guide overall strategy for Picture Book and Board lists seasonally; work closely with the Middle Grade Senior Manager to create a cohesive Young Readers strategy

  • Build in-house brands and characters

  • Develop and manage marketing budgets for assigned titles, ensuring effective allocation of resources

  • Create and route campaign assets and materials

  • Collaborate with design, digital marketing, school & library marketing, and publicity to ensure cohesive marketing plans and messaging

  • Represent campaigns, event strategy, and other opportunities in meetings with internal and external stakeholders

  • Utilize market research and analytics to monitor trends and optimize marketing strategies and target audiences

  • Provide additional support to the Assistant Director as needed


This role is remote-eligible but will requrie working primarily on Eastern Timezone.


Requirements/Qualifications:

  • At least 4-5 years of experience in marketing. Book marketing is strongly preferred.

  • Interest in working with books for young readers (books for ages 12 and under) a must. Experience working with or reaching parents of young children and similar audiences a plus!

  • Highly organized with the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated worker comfortable working independently as well as with a team.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and remain solution-oriented.

  • Willingness to learn and collaborate.


The salary for this position is $70,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
