Job Summary:

About the Role & Team

This is a six-month fixed-term contract opportunity to join our broadcast team, focusing on the National Geographic channels in the region. In collaboration with the Manager, the role involves developing a local programming strategy and overseeing its execution across the channel portfolio in Hungary.

The position entails creating and managing monthly linear schedules, informed by programming strategy, ratings research, competitive analysis, and regulatory guidelines.

Additionally, it includes supervising and assisting the Scheduling Specialist with the production of daily playlists.

This role will require you to be onsite 4 days a week with the flexibility of one day working from home.

What You Will Do

  • With Manager’s support, creates clear and compelling program strategies to drive channel performance and deliver performance targets.

  • Produces detailed, accurate, and competitive program schedules on a daily, weekly and monthly basis (as required), based on in-depth analysis.

  • Supervises and supports Scheduling Specialist in delivery of daily playlist. Prepares training plans, implements most effective workflows within the team and with relevant stakeholders

  • Plans workload for Scheduling Specialist and administers vacation schedules.

  • Ensures accurate and timely entry of schedules into broadcast system in observance of monthly deadlines. Issues and tracks program amendments where necessary.

  • Is responsible for creation, communication and distribution of monthly plans and program highlights to local teams, regional stakeholders, and wider business.

  • Is working closely with communication teams and delivers the most up to date information about programming priorities.

  • Continuously monitors channel performance across all markets to ensure target delivery. Makes schedule changes when necessary and studies competitors strategies and ratings.

  • Creates on air promotion strategy in cooperation with senior media planning specialist by identifying key promotable campaigns. Enters on-air campaigns in relevant system.

  • Coordinates promo production and monitors localization status & timelines with local studio. Keeps ongoing professional business relations with the partner.

  • Screens and evaluates content to identify local acquisitions opportunities. Ensures that programming databases and forecasts are accurate and all license rights are being observed

  • Monitors completeness of localized metadata and ensures program records are entered and maintained within relevant systems and data bases.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience of evaluating ratings and research reports.

  • Knowledge of Broadcast Scheduling System (we use WhatsON) and channel reporting systems.

  • Knowledge of regional TV market, competitive set and trends.

  • Experience of working in a multi territory environment an advantage.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.

  • Business fluency in Hungarian and English

  • Passion for TV content, programming, brand positioning and viewing essential.
