Disney Streaming is a business unit within Disney Entertainment (DE) segment that includes all consumer-facing digital video subscription services across the company. Our core mission is to deliver global audiences the freedom to access content on their terms across any connected device, time or location.

DE’s DTC FP&A Team is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Disney+/Hulu FP&A team. This role will be heavily involved with partnering with our various human resource partners to accurately forecast global labor expense across Direct-to-Consumer. This role would also be responsible assisting with the actuals in partnership with our Controllership team.

What You Will Do

This role will be expected to work independently with various partners across finance as well as other cross-functional business partners to deliver thoughtful forecasts and variance analyses in their assigned areas. This role requires the SFA to perform a variety of tasks under time pressure and tight deadlines during critical FP&A delivery periods around quarter close reporting and forecasting cycles. A successful candidate will be able to navigate an ever changing, dynamic environment with a positive demeanor and seek opportunities to drive efficient processes and challenge the status quo.

  • Oversee financial models in support of forecasting labor expense across Disney+ and Hulu for all cross-functional teams monthly, as well as for the annual operating plan (AOP) and long-range plan (LRP)

  • Analyze quarterly financial actuals vs forecast to validate the accuracy of planning assumptions

  • Prepare summary outputs that will be the source of truth for executive reporting around headcount and labor forecasts, effectively communicating trends and key storylines

  • Partner with Human Resources to ensure accurate alignment of headcount and labor reporting

  • Point of contact with Controllership on quarter close for reported P&L actuals, responsible for descriptive variance analysis

  • Perform ad-hoc strategic analysis and reporting as requested by FP&A leaders, lines of business (LOBs), and/or Finance Consolidations team

  • Proactively identify, recommend, and drive improvements in existing models and processes

  • Actively work with key stakeholders, operating groups, and finance team members to improve the effectiveness of the financial planning process, assumptions, and results

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience

  • Very strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues

  • High level of proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint

  • Proactive and creative in approaching problems and presenting financial data

  • Ability to work cross-functionally, managing many stakeholders and building relationships throughout the company

  • Very organized with the ability to prioritize activities, manage timelines, and deal effectively with pressure

Preferred Qualifications

  • A good understanding of the entertainment industry and Direct-to-Consumer business models

  • Familiarity with working in or with large organizations

  • Prior experience with financial systems such as SAP

Education

  • BA/BS (focus on Finance, Accounting, or other quantitative field a plus)

The hiring range for this position in New York is $104,300.00 to $130,300.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
