Downtown Music Publishing is seeking a Coordinator, Copyright - Onboarding. This person will be responsible for a range of activities related to music copyright administration, including onboarding new clients, managing their song catalogs, registering their works with rights societies around the world, and solving problems during that process. This hybrid position reports to the Senior Coordinator, Copyright, and can be based in our New York, Los Angeles, or Nashville locations.

What you'll do:

  • Work with the Copyright team to onboard new clients
  • Enter song data into Downtown's Music Maestro system for registration with society partners around the world
  • Research and collect ISRCs for database ingestion
  • Reformat song schedules to be fed into bulk ingestion tools
  • Register songs with the United States Copyright Office
  • Collaborate closely with the Client Services team to identify and manage priorities, collect and respond to client feedback on catalog issues, and ensure quick, efficient, and accurate registration of priority clients
  • Maintain, improve, and manage processes for merging duplicate works internally
  • Collaborate with the Royalties team to configure client royalty percentages for songs and subcodes and provide copyright information to facilitate accurate and timely royalty collection, processing, and distribution.
  • Assist with ad hoc research and data entry projects as needed

  • Self starter that enjoys taking proactively seeking solutions and jump starting initiatives
  • A curiosity and desire to learn about copyright and publishing administration.
  • Comfortable working with large sets of data in Excel or Google Sheets

Downtown provides base salary ranges for all positions located in the United States at the time of posting. The hiring range for this position is $40,000 - $45,000 annually. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon various factors including, but not limited to, work experience, geographic location and relevant skills. Downtown is committed to providing a comprehensive market-competitive total rewards program for its employees which includes medical, dental, and vision, life insurance, 401(k) match and generous paid time off. This range does not include any other variable compensation components.
