Job Summary

The Graphics Finishing Manager’s primary role is to support all motion graphic finishes for A/V, ensuring the smooth and accurate delivery of graphics to both in-house and out-of-house finishing teams, as applicable. In addition to technical finishing skills, a strong creative art & design background fulfills on-demand needs for production versioning & creative changes on projects well into the finishing process. They are adaptable to any new challenges and excited to provide support to the department as a whole. They are a champion for company culture while creating and maintaining best practices for Buddha Jones.



General Responsibilities

Admin

  • Liaise with Motion Graphics Artists, AV Producers and Motion Graphics Finishing Director to understand finishing needs for upcoming projects. Assess needs & related tasks.

  • Collaborate with Finishing Director to establish and enforce “Best Practices” workflow for all of Buddha Jones as it pertains to graphics finishing pipeline. Maintain & update "Best Practices" as it evolves with our changing Finishing workflow & hybrid personnel.

  • Mentor, educate, guide and support AV Producers on finishing workflow, technical specs, and general department workflow (offline/online).

  • Be a champion for standards both internally and externally for the Buddha GFX finishing process.

  • Proactively follow finishing email threads and internal conversations, ensuring all tasks in the finishing queue are addressed in a timely manner. Communicate tasks claimed with Finishing Director to ensure streamlined workflow.

  • Coordinate with AV producers regarding specific project-based finishing communications, including but not limited to: footage requests, client comms and deliveries.


Finishing

  • Manage and assess incoming toolkits attached to brands & active campaigns - able to train and inform other artists on campaign/ brand guidelines for delivery of the highest quality standards.

  • Conform and prep finished spots, from approval checkers through final delivery.

  • Be a leader in the QC process on all active requests to deliver the highest quality creative looks, delivery specs, colorspace and any other format or technical aspects that may apply.

  • Troubleshoot, assess & establish proper settings for all artists in relation to creative look, technical specs and colorspace to ensure a smooth delivery process.

  • Communicate directly with the in-house and out-of-house finishing teams and online editors as needed, especially when in need of technical troubleshooting as the first point of contact.

  • Practice quality-control measuring and corrective action steps to enhance product and ensure highest-quality deliverables.


IT/ Other

  • Contribute to any IT initiatives as well as help with testing & troubleshooting where applicable.

  • Stay up to date on all competitive activity and new trends in the marketplace.

  • Other responsibilities as needed.


Skills

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in graphic design, animation and post production.

  • Expert level speed and familiarity with After Effects and C4D Production.

  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple tasks at one time.

  • Service oriented individual with attitude toward the client experience.

  • Clear understanding of graphic delivery specs: 4K, 2K, UHD, HD and social formats such as 1x1, 4x5 & 9x16 at various frame rates.

  • After Effects color and footage I/o, can establish log to linear color work flow.

  • Strong team management skills; a natural leader.

  • Ability to listen, consider and execute and engage different cultures and perspectives, engaging attitude toward peers.

  • Ability to reproduce and reconstruct effects/toolkits/comps for finish quality.


Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience in various mediums, including live action, animation post-production, social, digital, and banners with ability to determine timelines and resources necessary to complete requests.
