Director, Strategy & Operations

      The Director of Strategy & Operations is responsible for driving strategic priorities, project managing key initiatives, and function as an operational extension of the senior team, including spearheading new business opportunities. They help maintain and shape the strategy for the organization while working to ensure effective cross-departmental coordination to execute on that strategy. They manage special projects across the company’s key operating areas of Film, TV, Games and Brand development. There will also be opportunity for the Director to initiate and own special projects for the company. Role will work directly with senior-most leadership of the company including CEO, President, CFO, CMO and heads of Film, TV, Games, HR and Business Affairs. 

Role responsibilities: 

  • Capacity-building for senior team on major projects (e.g., strategy, budget, KPIs, board preparation)
  • Project management responsibility for major initiatives: Annual financial and strategic planning process, organizational restructuring and marketing/branding efforts
  • New business development including adapting our production processes to utilize new technologies including AI and virtual production as well as producing content for immersive entertainment formats
  • Facilitate maturing company processes: annual processes calendars, research and run analytics on key operational metrics related to revenue, overhead, production spending and profit margin
  • Manage competitive business intelligence including tracking capital raises, strategic investments and content trends 
  • Help manage new Brand health and Audience data using various public and proprietary data sources 
  • Support facilities and building operations in partnership with senior leaders, including oversight of vendors, contracts, etc.
  • Management of key external relationships (e.g., investors, distribution partners, talent)
  • Ideate ways to improve current processes and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity

Skills and experience: 

  • 4+ years of professional project management or operational experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • Exceptional project management and executive communication skills
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to translate vision into execution
  • Highly skilled at presentation-making on complex subjects
  • Basic level of Corporate Finance proficiency 
  • Ability to build trust at all levels of the organization and serve as thought partner to senior team
  • Strong organizational skills and a sharp eye for detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly in written and verbal communications, perform basic analytics
