WRDW-TV/WAGT-TV is located in Augusta, Georgia, and has a rich community presence spanning 70+ years. Its award-winning news team has been recognized with national, regional, and state honors. As the market's CBS and NBC affiliate, the news team produces 40 hours of news weekly and also has a robust digital presence. The station is housed in a new facility complete with state-of-the-art technology and employee amenities. Augusta, Georgia is known as the home of the Masters and the Garden City, located 2 hours from the beach, and 3 hours from the mountains. Job Summary/Description:

WRDW-TV/WAGT-TV has a full-time opening for a weeknight anchor. Position evolves anchoring various newscasts from early afternoon to late night. This is not an entry-level position. Qualified applicants only.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Work with producers to gather and verify information through email, phone calls, and conversations with co-workers, and also write and select stories for various newscasts. Proofread scripts for accuracy and clarity.
• Anchor 4 PM, 7 PM, & 11 PM newscasts M-F and other newscasts as assigned/needed.
• Anchor will not regularly produce any newscasts but should have the desire, knowledge, and experience to be a hands-on asset to the night-side news team.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• A successful applicant's background should be someone with a degree or equivalent experience in broadcast journalism.
• Previous anchoring experience that demonstrates strong camera presence, conversational, and confident delivery.
• Solid news editorial judgment and news broadcast style writing.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention and accuracy to detail under multiple deadlines a must.
• Ability to deliver clear and accurate information whether scripted or ad-libbed in breaking news situations.
