Job Summary:

The Manager / Assistant Manager will have responsibility for providing strategic and financial leadership to the DTC organization. They will serve as a critical business partner to understanding key trends and developing business plans. The position will have high exposure to business and financial leaders, helping to assess and explain key issues as well as make and carry out strategic recommendations.

The Manager / Assistant Manager is responsible for the handling of complex production finance work for specific project(s), which requires an understanding of accounting principles. Works with discretion as to work details on assignments of a varied nature. Provides general and specialized analysis and reporting. Works closely with content producers, production staff, and other departments including general accounting, legal, and FP&A.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Local content budget management including COC analysis in the Budget, Forecast, Closing, and Long-Range Strategic planning cycles.
  • Responsible to track Production budget including provide accounting guidance to Production companies.
  • Help drive the overall Forecast process, including analyzing the P&L
  • Partner with DTC Controllership and assist in the quarterly close process.
  • Evaluate and communicate financial information and recommendations in a digestible format to present to department leaders and finance executives.
  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives as well as document policies and procedures.
  • Build models to help consolidate and analyze content trends as well as provide input and help drive ad hoc projects for the DTC.
  • Collaborate with the Content team to understand content strategies and how will impact budget and cash flow.
  • Provide critical input and data analysis for Production projects.
  • Potential opportunities to support project related work (e.g. marketing, content)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (emphasis in Accounting/Finance) or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • At least 5-8 years of experience
  • Experience in the entertainment industry with production finance/accounting experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to work well in teams, both within the group and also with other business units
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident in ability to work effectively to deadlines.
  • Previous working experience in entertainment/media industry is a plus but not required.
  • SAP and Cognos experience is a plus.
