KUSA-TV
9NEWS, the TEGNA-owned NBC affiliate in Denver, CO, is looking for a talented and dynamic weekday, early evening Anchor to co-anchor our weekday early evening newscasts and be a fill-in Anchor for late news as necessary. The successful candidate will demonstrate superior on-camera communication skills as well as the ability to engage in spontaneous conversation with other members of the on-air team. Weekday responsibilities include nightside reporting after early evening news and appearing live in late broadcasts and anchor fill-in as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Anchor multiple weekday early evening newscasts on 9NEWS – 4 and 5p
  • Write and copy edit stories under deadline.
  • Work closely with the rest of the on-air and off-air team to produce a market-leading newscast.
  • Fill in as late evening anchor as needed at 9 and 10p on KTVD and 9NEWS
  • Report after early evening news for late news.
  • Work directly with photojournalists to produce stories.
  • Report live from the scene of various news stories.
  • Anchor and add additional content to our streaming platform as assigned.
  • Produce a digital version of each broadcast story.
  • Report on and support a community cause in the market that you are passionate about.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or communication preferred.
  • Five to seven years of experience in daily electronic journalism, including regular opportunities to anchor newscasts.
  • Thorough understanding of journalism practices and ethics.
  • Curiosity.
