As an Anchor/ Reporter, you are the face of the story, helping audiences connect with the news that matters to their communities. You’ll also be a leader behind the scenes, playing an active role in editorial discussions and decisions. You will be part of a collaborative team that creates compelling, timely and accurate content intended to engage and connect with viewers across traditional and digital platforms.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM NEWS
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Television News Anchoring – 3+ years, television News Reporting – 5+ years
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications or related field or comparable television work experience preferred
- Technical skills: Must have editing skills, must be familiar with shooting video and using still photos to illustrate stories, must be adept at social media
- Skills: Must be able to develop sources, work a beat, and break stories, must have strong on-camera skills with the ability to read narration effectively
- Abilities: Demonstrated ability to lead people and obtain results through others, demonstrated story development skills to submit original story ideas daily
- Travel Ability: Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
- Schedule: Ability to work different shifts or longer shifts due to "breaking news" and severe weather emergencies. Willing and able to work weekends and holidays
- Valid driver’s license for authorized driving in the State of residence
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a 24-hour news channel
Working Conditions:
- Works inside in a climate-controlled environment and outside throughout the year and may be subjected to various weather conditions that could include extreme heat or cold conditions
