Your New Role…

We have a fantastic opportunity to provide a proactive, pragmatic generalist HR service to our CNN International Commercial teams across EMEA.

Partnering with teams based in London, Paris and the UAE, you will have the confidence to work closely with front-line sales and support teams advising on a variety of HR related matters being able to influence, develop and support Managers in what is a truly dynamic part of Warner Bros, Discovery’s portfolio.

Working alongside the CNN People & Culture teams as well as the broader WBD teams globally you will act as a key liaison with our Centres of Excellence and must be able to create credible and professional relationships providing commercially focused and practical solutions to support and meet our short, mid and long-term business objectives.

This is a hybrid role with three days per week based in our Old Street office.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Develop and maintain close working relationships across the CNNIC teams, providing a responsive first-class HR service.  You will be aware and understand their business objectives and focus on ensuring that the work you do is adding real value and helping them to achieve their goals. 

  • Advise Managers on implications of organisational changes (at an individual and team level), responsible for ensuring we are legally compliant and act as a true partner questioning and constructively challenging and remaining curious.

  • Communicate and implement Warner Bros, Discovery People & Culture strategies including our DEI initiatives ensuring they are tailored accordingly to suit relevant teams bearing in mind that one approach may not fit all.

  • Support Line Managers in effectively managing their people through utilising and partnering with our broader internal HR COE’s taking advantage of their specialist knowledge and approach.

  • Work with line Managers to identify effective talent and succession plans helping them to build high performing teams for now and the future.

  • Be the interface with the Employee Connections first tier resolution team to help facilitate all requests for headcount additions or changes, ensure that job descriptions, org charts and any other relevant reports are updated accordingly.

  • Coach Managers to focus on driving performance and supporting employees through effective and fair evaluation processes implementing specific performance improvement plans where required.

  • Work with the broader Warner Bros, Discovery diversity teams to advise on the implementation of the company’s Diversity strategy and related policies and procedures, particularly in relation to recruitment, promotion, career development, and creating an open, inclusive culture where differences are respected and valued.

Qualifications & Experience…

  • Demonstrate prior experience of business partnering in a fast-paced, high change, matrix environment.

  • Be commercially aware and curious about the business areas you support (and the wider business) to maximise your influence and become a true business partner.

  • Collaborate! - Work closely with our centres of excellence to develop and implement initiatives that develop capability and culture. 

  • Make sound and prompt decisions as well as connect the dots between different functions to challenge assumptions and improve efficiency and effectiveness for the business.

  • Lead projects and change programmes across CNNIC and wider CNN teams as required.

  • Exercise a level of independent judgement and make sound decisions that enhance business performance, often with little direction while ensuring you comply with laws and regulations.

  • Demonstrate an ability to self-prioritise and manage a complex and changing workloads with the ability to meet changing and varying deadlines.

  • Be an excellent communicator, have great interpersonal and relationship building skills with a sense of humour.

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
