Job Description
**Hybrid work expectations of 1 day per week in office - NYC or LA facility**
THE ROLE: Vice President, Development
The Vice President/Development role is a critical managerial role for A+E’s Factual Studio. The VP would help run the day to day operations of the Category6 development team (a subsidiary of the Factual Studio), while setting up the group for success, long term. The role is for a seasoned executive, who has a breadth of both creative and managerial experience.

As the lead conduit between the Factual Studio and our suite of networks, the VP Development will be a key executive and work with the A+E programming executives in a day to day capacity. From a management standpoint, this role will oversee a development team of creatives and manage their ideation and development processes. This includes overseeing legal processes, talent relations, development budgets…etc. The role will focus on our internal networks (A&E, Lifetime, History) but will also encompass external development and pitches.

The VP will have a working relationship with A+E executives and in the greater global marketplace. A self-starter and developing show ideas at volume is key. The VP will also pitch ideas regularly to networks, being a strong communicator is an important part of the role.

More about Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Run Weekly Pitch meetings
  • Develop shows for A+E’s growing FAST channel business
  • Liaise with Factual Studio EVP and provide latest brand priorities to the team for development needs
  • Work closely with A+E’s Global Content Sales team to develop content for the int’l marketplace
  • Lead and handle the legal aspects of the development team e.g. development deals/talents deals
  • Oversee Paid Network development… have oversight over editorial and staffing
  • Help Manage Dev Budget with EVP oversight
  • Key Conduit between Studio and Brands. VP manages brainstorms with the networks and pitches regularly.
  • Handle day to day team management
  • Help develop ideas for External buyers
YOUR STORY
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in development and production of unscripted content with a network or production company
  • A deep understanding of current trends, audience preferences, and industry dynamics within the unscripted content space
  • Established reputation and relationships within creative community
  • Strong creative executive presence that possesses a strategic mindset and has the ability to promote a collaborative environment
  • Natural leadership ability with strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

Compensation
Annual Pay Range: $193,976 - $254,657
Annual Incentive Target: 25.00%

The annual/hourly
pay range displayed serves as a good faith estimate of the
minimum and maximum base pay range for this role. Compensation for the role will
be based on a number of different factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills,
