This position supports Mattel's initiative to provide high quality and brand consistent localized versions of all Mattel content, contributing to the company’s broadening global representation.

Position objective: Responsible for the scheduling and project management of 3rd party localization vendors, internal video editorial work on localized assets, and delivery of internal and external video content for international use. Orchestrates asset management and delivery of content including internal and external assets, partnering with a variety of stakeholders including marketing, distribution, brands, and other internal and external departments, to ensure proper alignment of Mattel IP and its partners. Oversees the execution of localization projects from commencement through final delivery.

1. Provides best in class localization management, poising Mattel to be an industry leader in original localized content creation.

2. Coordinates the communication between Production and Post, Distribution and Markets to ensure most up to date schedules, developments and information is shared.

3. Coordinates the delivery of materials for quotes and dubbing projects. Brand glossary and translation sourcing for digital platform metadata, web and microsites, games, apps, packaging, etc.

4. Coordinates the creation of comprehensive brand glossaries that will fulfil the needs of all departments (including CP for play set manufacture), covering brand names, character and place names, equipment, catch phrases, etc.

5. Coordinates the development of acceptable translations for the contents of the glossary for worldwide use, driving collaborations with Brand, local subs, dubbing studios, licensees, agents, etc.

6. Coordinates voice castings (up to 4 voice tests per character) for dubbed characters and theme tunes and rerecords or recasting where necessary. Contributes to creative decision-making regarding casting, aligning with English cast voices and international voice requirements.

7. Coordinates third party licensees who are responsible for the dubbing of our content, working with them to establish mutually agreed Brand approved translations, casting, etc.

8. Collects brand information from third party licensees to ensure brand consistency is achievable for other arms of Mattel within the territory, as well as ensuring that all rights are cleared.

9. Vets licensee material they hold is dubbed or subtitled, access of material, whilst providing regular updates to relevant parties. Maintaining systems, databases, and documentation.

10. Completes information in DAM, foreign language database, purchase orders, project documents, dubbing records, etc. to ensure accurate records and audit information.

11. Provides basic editorial services as applicable specifically creating localized still and motion graphics, dub cards, reformatting subtitles, marrying picture to audio.

Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience in a dubbing or post-production environment is required. In-depth knowledge/experience of entertainment localization.
  • Premiere and After Effects proficiency is required.
  • Knowledge/experience of media/animation production preferred.
  • Must be extremely organized, a fast learner, professional, efficient, detailed oriented, self-sufficient, a team player, passionate about entertainment, and able to thrive and multi-task in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Power Point required.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite is required.
  • Ability to deal with and resolve conflicts with capacity for suggesting well-reasoned solutions is essential.
  • Should enjoy working in a creative, dynamic and fast paced environment.

  • BA preferred but not required.

Language Skills:

· Fluency in multiple languages is required.

· Preferred language fluency in Russian, Polish, German or Japanese.

· Linguistics knowledge/experience is a plus.

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
