Addicted to TV and pop culture? Spend your downtime streaming everything new on Netflix, HBO Max, and Hulu? Obsessed with social media, memes, GIFs, viral videos, stories, reels, fan cams, edits, graphics, and TikToks? Then this position might be for you!

TV Insider is looking for an Social Media Assistant to join the team to create visually engaging content that grows our audience across various digital channels. This person will work closely with the editorial team and social media manager to bring TV Insider’s content to life across multiple digital platforms, mediums, and verticals. The right candidate will work daily with the editorial, social, video, product, and marketing teams creating social media graphics, photo galleries, emails, and any other assets required. 

The ideal candidate is well-organized and deadline-oriented with a mix of social media, basic design skills, social strategy, and storytelling capabilities. 

Qualifications

• 1-3 years social media and digital editorial experience, preferably at an entertainment or news outlet
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Deep understanding of internet and social media culture, from trending topics to memes and beyond
• Knowledge of and strong interest in the TV landscape, from broadcast networks to new streaming platforms
• Demonstrated ability to create content that intelligently incorporates audio, video, still images, and text
• Expertise with social media publishing and a passion for visual storytelling
• Expertise with Canva, Ceros, Adobe, or other visual design platforms 
• Basic video editing experience
• Working knowledge of best practices for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram,  YouTube, TikTok, X, and Threads 
• Previous experience with Hootsuite, Sprout Social or other social media scheduling and reporting tools
• Willingness to occasionally work off-hours, on some nights and weekends
