Assistant Production Accountant

Role Overview: Our accounting team is growing to support our expanding business and we’re looking for an experienced accounting professional to join and help us support our growing portfolio of businesses. A successful candidate must have prior accounts payable experience, excellent communications skills, and an interest in working in a high velocity environment. The position will work across all parts of our business and involve bookkeeping, traditional accounting, regular interaction with production teams, and regular opportunities to develop and refine a deep knowledge of filmed and live productions. 

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Foster strong professional relationships with vendors, staff, and production teams through excellent interpersonal skills.
• Manage accounts payable processes with precision, including coding vendors and expenses, verifying general ledger entries, and matching invoices to approved POs.
• Maintain accurate accounts payable records and process high volumes of weekly invoices and payments.
• Assist with other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned, based on skills and interests.
• Adapt to deadlines and work overtime when necessary.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 3+ years in accounts payable/receivable and 2+ years in an office environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in web-based accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct or NetSuite). Strong knowledge of internal controls, accounting principles, and 1099 forms. Must be proficient with 10-key adding machines.
• Computer Literacy: Intermediate to advanced Excel and Word skills.
• Problem-Solving: Proven ability to prioritize tasks, tackle challenges, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business field
• Previous Production finance and / or accounting experience
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience working with Sage Intacct ERP is a plus
