TEGNA Commercial Operations (TCO), located in Dallas, TX, is searching for a highly motivated Continuity Manager to facilitate the management and entry of commercial copy for multi-market orders across all TEGNA stations. This candidate must be extremely detailed, have outstanding organizational skills and be able to problem solve under tight deadlines. Strong communication skills in both verbal and written form are critical to the success of this candidate. This position will assist in the planning and execution of multi-market campaigns as it relates to copy.
Responsibilities:
- Execute the entry of traffic instructions for multi-market orders with high level of accuracy while providing exceptional customer service to clients, agencies and TEGNA stakeholders
- Assist in confirming commercial copy from all delivery systems, FTP, and outside sources
- Retrieve necessary information regarding traffic instructions and materials, view materials for quality control, and ensure material locations (in the material server and in WideOrbit) are up-to-date and accurate
- Process same-day playlist changes if necessary and ensure all documentation is accurate
- Create accurate and standardized purge lists for all TEGNA stations in coordination with the broadcast hub
- Implement standard operating procedures for material entry, assigning traffic instructions and other items related to copy
- Create standardized processes and ongoing training plan with necessary documentation for local station copy contacts
- Build and maintain relationships with the TEGNA Commercial Operations (TCO) teams and local station copy contacts
- Coordinate communication between the broadcast hub, TCO and local stations on corporate initiatives related to copy
- Work closely with TCO Directors to maintain and implement TEGNA naming standards for commercial materials
- Provide central point of contact for troubleshooting issues and questions related to copy
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of traffic, copy, sales support or engineering/master control experience in broadcast, cable or radio
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects effectively under deadline pressure
- Attention to detail, accuracy and strong organizational skills are a must
- Ability to effectively solve problems with sense of urgency
- Creative and able to adapt quickly to change
- Position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organization and time management
- Proficient with computer software/applications, including Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word and Excel
- WideOrbit traffic system knowledge (required)
