Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director, US Healthcare & Well-Being Programs, the Senior Manager, US Healthcare Strategy will be responsible for healthcare purchasing and innovation, primarily focused on providing access to quality and affordable healthcare to the company’s U.S. workforce while controlling plan costs, improving health outcomes and promoting employee engagement through broad-based, state-of-the-art interventions. The Senior Manager will assist in developing solutions encompassing, health plan network optimization, onsite medical/pharmacy and hospital systems vendor evaluation, management, negotiation, pricing and funding tactics.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the strategic development of new healthcare designs and innovative approaches to ensure the best outcomes for our employees and the company.

  • Work with national healthcare vendors on strategic initiatives in alignment with key priorities.

  • Help benchmark, develop, socialize and deploy medical and pharmacy plan design offerings.

  • Incorporate network optimization and population health strategy into holistic well-being strategy.

  • Partner on data and analytics review of healthcare metrics to drive strategy.

  • Collaborate on strategic well-being objectives and execution of physical well-being pillar.

  • Explore innovative approaches, including integration with broader benefit offerings.

  • Responsible for monitoring population health, clinical pharmacy, and disease management programs, identifying gaps and developing solutions.

  • Oversee processes and make recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness of programs, plan designs, and policies.

  • Collaborate on the integration of direct hospital contracts with national healthcare vendors.

  • Stay up to date on healthcare compliance regulations, ensuring plans meet needed requirements. 

  • Partner with project management and service delivery teams on implementation of new programs.

Qualifications

  • B. S. Degree in Actuarial Science, HR, Healthcare Management, Finance or related field

  • 7-10+ years of experience in healthcare consulting or client account management, with progressive responsibilities – corporate Benefits experience for a complex large employer a plus

  • Analytical and technical experience a must; medical/healthcare underwriting preferred

  • Strong technical knowledge of self-funded/self-administered healthcare, employee benefits plan design, insurance products, current trends, and legal and regulatory environment

  • Strong strategic and service orientation with ability to proactively understand needs and present/implement solutions

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Leadership presence and stakeholder management – ability to synthesize and articulate complex subject matter to leaders and key stakeholders


The hiring range for this position in California is $148,200.00-$181,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
