About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Content Distribution to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring that our content is distributed effectively across Shutterstock and its brand families, maximizing value for both our customers and contributors. The ideal candidate will work closely with contributor teams, business teams, and growth teams to understand customer needs, identify opportunities for content prioritization, and drive content marketing initiatives.

The day to day:
  • Content Strategy Development: Leverage data to develop and implement a comprehensive distribution content strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and enhances the value provided to customers and contributors.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with contributor teams to understand their needs and ensure their content is effectively utilized. Collaborate with business and growth teams to align distribution strategies with business objectives.
  • Customer Insights: Keep on top of market research and gather insights to deeply understand the needs and preferences of our customers. Use this information to guide content prioritization and make recommendations for marketing efforts as needed.
  • Opportunity Identification: Identify areas of opportunity for content prioritization, content marketing, and product adjustments. Develop actionable plans to address these opportunities and drive business growth.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze the performance of distributed content, using data-driven insights to optimize distribution strategies and improve engagement and conversion rates.
  • Content Marketing: Work with the marketing team to develop and execute content marketing campaigns that enhance content visibility and drive customer engagement.
  • Product Adjustments: Collaborate with product teams, leveraging data to suggest and prioritize adjustments that improve the user experience and meet customer needs.
What you’ll bring to the role:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in content strategy, distribution, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing content distribution strategies within a global technology company or a similar industry.
  • Experience working with digital content platforms and familiarity with different content types (e.g., video, audio, images, 3D models).
Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams, particularly in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.

The compensation package offered may vary depending on employment experience, skills, and knowledge. You may also be eligible for our generous benefits package including health, wellness and financial benefits. Compensation ranges for candidates in locations outside of the location(s) below may differ based on the cost of labor, market, and additional factors.

The pay range for this position is below:
  • 160,000 - 180,000 per year in New York
Note: Commission-eligible roles are expressed as on-target earnings (base and commission). Non-commission roles are expressed as base salary only but are also eligible for annual incentives.
