About The Jim Rome Show:

The Jim Rome Show is a daily sports talk show hosted by radio Hall of Famer, Jim Rome. The show is broadcast across terrestrial and satellite radio, and launched as a video simulcast on X in May of 2024. The show then launched a “Jim Rome Show” FAST channel in August 2024 which can be found across all major FAST providers including Samsung, Amazon Prime Video, LG, Vizio, DirecTV, and Plex.

Position Overview:

As a hybrid Graphics Producer & Segment Producer, you will both: a) oversee the creation and execution of all on-screen graphical elements for The Jim Rome Show and The After Hour (the 4th hour of content exclusive for FAST), as well as b) develop and produce daily segments for The After Hour in collaboration with the show’s Executive Producer and Co-Host.

Key Responsibilities:

Graphics Producer:

• Build Show Assets
• Create and oversee editorial graphics; emphasis on accurate, punchy topic bars for the 3-hour show that airs on X (“The Jim Rome Show”). These could be guest/interview-related, topic/news-related, radio caller (audio)-related, or sponsor-related.
• Building Lower Third Bars for each Monologue Segment
• Build Fullscreen Graphics such as Quoteboards if needed
• Update "Coming Up" Slab and Lower Thirds each day
• During the Show
• In charge of running graphics (Lower Thirds and Fullscreens) and Tape during the show through Tagboard
• Filling our "Break Takes" Carousel so each break has a few new Posts to rotate through
• Use the Audio Mixer to ensure Show audio is correct during segments and Breaks
• Finding B-roll for the day's show
• Source B-roll from reputable social accounts about the day's topics and use Tagboard to feature them so they can be used as Fullscreen graphics during the show.
• Zoom Check-ins
• Check in our guests through Zoom. This is normally for 2 Interview segments in the first 3 hours, as well as our remote co-host during "The After Hour", the 4th hour show we air on the Jim Rome FAST Channel

Segment Producer:

• Research and produce compelling segments for “The After Hour,” a 4th hour of programming that is exclusive to The Jim Rome FAST channel.
• Exercises stellar editorial skills: Ability to recognize stories with high potential for compelling and comprehensive storytelling.
• Create the daily rundown for “The After Hour.” Able to work within a templatized rundown format, creating the most topical, creative, flavorful and dynamic show each day that serves the FAST channel audience.
• Daily 15-20 minute morning prep call with co-host of The After Hour to I run through various sports news, game outcomes and “takes.”
• Being on top of, and being able to execute, live breaking news for both shows (“The Jim Rome Show” and “The After Hour”).
• Works closely with senior staff in control room with the ability to add to the editorial process in a breaking and live news environment.
• Exhibit calm demeanor in high pressure situations, including control room.
• Participate in daily staff editorial and production meetings.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3+ years experience in live video, digital content and social media production.
• Proven expertise in Tagboard (or comparable graphics systems like XPression or Viz) and Photoshop.
• Experience operating an audio mixer (or willingness to learn).
• Some familiarity with video editing tools (ie. Adobe Premiere) and other creative tools (ie. After Effects) are a welcome bonus, but not required.
• Proficiency in crafting compelling segments.
• Deep passion for and knowledge of sports.
• Attention to detail, ability to work independently, and strong organization skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to operate within a live production environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of control room and exercises appropriate etiquette
• Impeccable grammar and spelling.

Salary: $7,000 per month*

*Note this is a full-time contractor role.
