The EDU Marketing Coordinator works closely with the marketing team to help plan, create, execute, and track marketing efforts for the SXSW EDU Conference & Festival. They support marketing campaigns across various channels, including email, website, social media, digital/print advertising, surveys, videos, and content creation. This role best suits a collaborative candidate with strong copywriting and copy-editing skills, close attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a high-stress and fast-paced environment. The Marketing Coordinator is critical to facilitating effective, multi-faceted communication and expanding the reach of a large-scale hybrid event.

Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
  • Production support for marketing efforts, including email marketing, print/digital advertising, and trades/partnerships
  • Assist with the development of engaging email marketing campaigns, blog posts, and social media posts
  • Manage various trade partnership information and assist with the fulfillment of assets
  • Support the marketing team with daily copywriting and copy-editing responsibilities
  • Create unique content to support new marketing initiatives across all channels
  • Assist with producing advertising campaigns for print publications, radio, television, and online media, including curating copy, photos, and videos.
  • Support special marketing projects such as community activations and meet-ups.
  • Assist with the development of market research, including surveys and focus groups.
  • Prepare reports and analysis of various marketing campaigns and community data.
  • Provide insights and identify new opportunities through data analysis
On-Site Responsibilities
The EDU Marketing Coordinator supports the onsite execution of conference and festival marketing for SXSW EDU and generally supports the overall production of the event. Additional event support duties are to be fulfilled as needed throughout SXSW.

Qualifications & Skills
Qualifications include:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in marketing
  • Self-starter with strong prioritization and organization skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a keen attention to detail
  • Reliable and able to execute tasks with minimal oversight
  • Excellent writing, copy editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Interest or experience in the field of education
  • Proficiency with Mac iOS and the Google suite
  • Experience in coding, photo editing, and design suites is a plus
Work Location & Schedule
The position is located in Austin, Texas. Core business office hours are from 10 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. You must be available to work additional hours from January through March, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
