Job Description
KBAK/KBFX has an immediate opening for a creative Local News Television Producer! In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production of our newscasts. This position will also work closely with the Executive Producer, Newscast Directors, and Anchors on the newscast and its content. In this position, you will determine the content and flow of newscasts, work with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories, and develop content for our website.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Solid news judgment
- Be a compelling and accurate writer
- Be able to multitask and manage time in order to put together an exciting and informative newscast
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- The ability to execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts
- Flexibility and on-the-spot problem-solving abilities are a must
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Must have at least some previous news-producing experience
- Fluency in English grammar
- Complete understanding of current events and news
- Complete understanding and compliance with journalism ethics
- Ability to work under deadline pressure
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

The hourly compensation range for this role is $16.00 to $17.00. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full-time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, quarterly and annual incentive plan bonuses, life and disability insurance, health, dental, and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
