Job Summary:

About the Role & Team:

The Sports Brand Solutions groups serve the Disney Advertising Sales team as experts on specific sports/properties (i.e. College Football, NBA, NFL, Women’s Sports). The group is vital to the sales process and drives significant advertising revenue via the creation of multimedia sponsorship opportunities and turnkey, customized marketing solutions. The Sports Brand Solutions group oversees the development and execution of all sponsorship deliverables, to ensure sponsorship elements and enhancements run correctly.

The Sports Brand Solutions group is a team of experts that provide creative marketing sponsorship and integration opportunities across ESPN’s vast content portfolio. The team is responsible for the complete sponsorship process including, but not limited to, rights negotiations, strategy, ideation, and execution. The group works closely with internal stakeholders including Sales, Production, Programming, Editorial, Revenue & Operations, Consumer Marketing and Legal to strategically maximize the revenue and sales opportunities across our sport platforms.

The SBS team also manages the day-to-day external sales relationships with our various League and 3rd party production partners to ensure we are following the contractual guardrails and maximizing revenue opportunities.

There are two openings on the team. Both roles are open in New York.  

1. Associate Manager, Sports Brand Solutions will be responsible for supporting our sponsorship business for College Sports properties inclusive of College Basketball, NCAA Championship events and ACC Network in addition to other select collegiate properties.
2. Associate Manager, Sports Brand Solutions will be responsible for the development of building multimedia sponsorship packages for NBA properties across TV, Digital, Social, Audio and On-Site activation platforms. Grow and develop relationships with content partners including NBA Today and digital/social.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage assigned sport/property Sales Opportunities (i.e: College Basketball, NCAA Champ, ACCN, OR NBA)

    • Produce Proactive Sales Opportunities

      • Build consensus among stakeholders for ideation process

    • Create Sales Materials for proactive Opportunities across TV and Addressable

  • Lead RFP response for assigned properties

    • Run point on ideation tied to RFPs

    • Develop materials for sales to respond to client

    • Present ideas to both internal sales and client

  • Manage Post Sale Execution

    • Maintain and distribute Sales Obligations, Sponsorship Calendars

    • Work with CreativeWorks for all Sponsor graphic mockups

    • Work closely with Production and Digital/Social edit to clearly communicate expectations for all Sponsor Obligations

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3+ years related work experience.

  • Experience in digital media, sponsorship, sports marketing, sales, or partnerships preferred

  • Proficient with PowerPoint, Keynote, Word, and Excel

  • Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills

  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires a high level of responsiveness.

  • An optimistic, solution-oriented professional who leads by example


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Thorough understanding of NBA landscape, College Basketball, NCAA or ACC Network

  • Detail oriented and strong time management skills

  • High level of creativity

  • Strong written and presentation skills

  • High level of customer service

  • Self-starter with ability to work independently, while being accountable to team

  • Flexibility to travel during week and weekends.  Work is primarily in an office environment, with occasional event travel

The hiring range for this position based in New York is $86,400 to $118,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
