Job Summary/Description:

CBS7 - the top-rated, long-time news leader in Odessa-Midland, TX - is looking for a Reporter and Producer to join our news team in a hybrid position. Three days a week will be spent reporting as an MMJ and two days of the week will be spent as a newscast producer. It is a good opportunity to hone and keep both skills as you grow in the newsroom.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Report daily on stories happening around West Texas.
  • Produce an hour-long newscast with a combination of local, state, and national news.
  • Write for broadcast and web.
  • Edit video for reporter packages and newscasts.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Degree in Journalism or related field.
  • Knowledge of AP style.
  • Experience with newsroom environments.
  • Quick thinking/takes initiative, capable of breaking news situations.
