Job Description:

What will you work on?

|The Brand Director Dolls position is a strategic role that requires a deep understanding of the customer, global markets, competition, trends, business goals, product knowledge and strategic planning of across multiple marketing channels.
How will you create impact?

  • Creates the product strategies and drives the product development for their brands
  • Support a portfolio of brands through global product management and clearly communicate the brand strategies and positioning to all business partners
  • Defines the business case for our product assortment. This position will own revenue and margin goals across all products within their portfolio.
  • Create and manage all aspects of the marketing plan for the assigned brands, including brand and product marketing strategy, product positioning, packaging strategy, creative strategy briefs, market research and consumer insights, advertising, in-store displays, public relations, licensing, web/internet, and targeted consumer/trade outreach and promotions.
  • Lead the development of integrated marketing communications plans that leverage a mix of channels and tactics to effectively reach and engage target audiences.
  • Manage and work with brand team and cross functional teams on product development - from concept feasibility and selection, consumer research, production, and marketplace success.
  • Manage the financial aspects of a portfolio of the brand, including costing and pricing, PL, budgeting, SKU rationalization and profitability analysis.
  • Identify desirable new business opportunities and market expansion potential by conducting sales and marketing competitive analysis of current and potential business. Analysis to include licensing opportunities, channels of distribution and sales targets, pricing for each class of trade, industry standard margin requirements, market definition, promotional spending requirements and consumer benefits/needs.
  • Participate in sales presentations for large retailers and provide sales tools supporting successful sell in of one or more brands.
  • Assist in management of trade shows, conducting analysis of effectiveness, prioritization of exhibiting and attendance, product selections and booth design directions.


What are your skills and experience?

  • Global brand/product management experience is preferred.
    Experience in processes such as: business planning, strategic marketing plan development, portfolio management and development, market research/customer insights, new product launches and business performance tracking across a global market landscape is required.
  • Demonstrated success in launching products or leading a company's entrance into a new category with innovative products or services is required.
  • Understands insights, can analyze factors contributing to insights and brings ideas to change strategy to contribute to the growth of the brand
  • Understands broader considerations including aisle placement and real estate, buyer mentality, competition, and online vs brick and mortar advantages
  • Understands and can articulate how macro-economic factors affect our business and the industry


The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in California is $150,000 to $170,000 Per Annum. The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc. Spin Master Inc. is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work only in other states.
