Role: Entertainment Rights Business Analyst

Location: 10 UNIVERSAL CITY PLAZA Building 1440, Universal City, CA 91608

Duration: 6 Months W2 Contarct

Pay Rate: $60 to $66/Hr on W2

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
Typically has 3 to 5 years of relevant technical or business work experience.
SQL is necessary, Data mapping, data reviews, and analysis is helpful. If they can build data models, that is good too as that is the core of it.
Good communication and people skills. If they’ve worked in places where they’ve done big data (ecommerce, etc.) it would be helpful but the specific industry is not necessary.

Responsibilities:

Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.
Possesses expertise in the business unit(s) they support, as well as, an understanding of the IT organization’s systems and capabilities.
Analyzes business partner’s operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.
Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.
Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications.
Educates the IT organization on the direction of the business.
Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation.
Possesses an understanding of technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise’s competitive edge.
May make recommendations for buy versus build decision.

Top skills for the role - Knowledge of media entertainment Rights, distribution Rights, media and entertainment contract.
Soft skills - team players, open minded and friendly. work with 3 teams; product/engineering/business. The HM feedback on recent candidates was that they are not well versed with Rights logic. HM is trying to find someone with a balance who is a good PM less handholding, not an actual PM but a Sr. business analyst has a very good foundation on Technical Rights. If you find someone with more Rights exp and less PM experience the HM is okay with that.
