What You’ll Do

The Signatories Representative is the initial point of contact for employers seeking to become signatory to the DGA’s collective bargaining agreements. They are responsible for guiding employers through the signatory process by reviewing and verifying production-related agreements, evaluating projects to determine which financial assurances would best protect DGA members and preparing and collecting financial assurances forms. The Signatories Representative will independently manage a revolving portfolio of projects in a deadline-driven environment seeking guidance from the Signatories Administrator when necessary. This position is onsite at our Los Angeles headquarters.

Essential duties & responsibilities:

Reviewing and summarizing chain of title documents and other production-related agreements such as financing agreements, distribution agreements, and director agreements

  • Independently drafting customary financial assurances forms
  • Regularly corresponding with producers, attorneys, and members regarding the signatory process, clearly and accurately articulating guild policies
  • Keeping internal database updated with the most current project information for interdepartmental use
  • Timely filing documents with US Copyright Office and Secretaries of State
  • Researching entertainment financing and corporate structure
  • Performing other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

We want to make sure you’re successful. To be considered, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 2 years of legal experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience reading and interpreting contracts, reviewing chain of title, and/or performing lien searches
  • Excellent research skills
  • Excellent communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • JD degree
  • Previous union or entertainment industry experience
