As the Associate Producer - International Production, you’ll be at the forefront of creating captivating content that reaches global audiences. The Associate Producer will work within the Global Production team and report directly to the Director - Content & International Business Development. The successful candidate will work with many departments and regions within and outside of ESPN. Work will be performed in a fast-paced environment for a wide variety of content requirements. With the main responsibilities to support our NFL and NBA studio shows and ‘minis’ creation, the AP will also work directly on ‘special projects and initiatives’ that support our international regions whilst they continue to transition to distribution on digital platforms, including Disney+.
A creative, collaborative, and audience/fan-first attitude is essential to being successful in the new position.
Our ideal candidate must be flexible with their schedule and should expect to work nights, holidays, and weekends when required. The ability to work autonomously, multi-task, and prioritize is a must. We need someone who can work to tight deadlines while demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills. Other skills that we are looking for in our candidates include organizational and planning skills and being able to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
Responsibilities
Substantial contribution to the development, creation, and management of content for distribution globally, including, but not limited to, NBA/NFL/NBL ‘minis’, short-form features, sales initiatives, social/digital content, live events and other projects
Manage impactful special projects such as producing social media content and utilizing artificial intelligence production tools/technology.
Contribute to studio shows and live event production, including editing, graphics, and media.
Operating in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and deadline-driven environment.
Demonstrating a good working knowledge of editing techniques
Always having a creative, collaborative and audience-first mentality to work
Proven ability to work independently and manage simultaneous projects.
Organizational and multi-tasking skills are required.
Understanding complex information and disseminating it to proper personnel in a clear and concise manner.
Quality control to ensure that all content produced is up to the standard required for distribution
Seeking out information in regards to the workflow of other business units, including their impact and/or specific integration to benefit the team
Problem-solving, troubleshooting, and effective communication to best convey any issues needing resolution.
Participation in training programs (physical, classroom, virtual, etc.) for self-career development and/or regarding any relevant equipment and workflow changes within the operation.
Participation in required administrative tasks including, but not limited to, the effective utilization of all ESPN software-based applications such as time entry, travel, and expense filing.
Embrace company initiatives, including town and/or departmental meetings, upward feedback, performance management applications, and employee surveys.
Expected participation in initiatives, contributing to and influencing medium-scale projects.
Expected to train and gain advanced skills in different operational areas to best facilitate the coordination of assignments.
Basic Requirements
A minimum of 2 years of practical TV production or related experience.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Flexibility to alter shifts/days off and work overtime to accommodate projects.
Must demonstrate the ability to perform tasks under tight deadlines, work independently, and prioritize simultaneous projects.
Strong interpersonal communication skills are a necessity.
Organizational, efficiency, and planning skills are required.
Ability to work as a part of a team dynamic.
Must be willing and able to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
Candidates must have a good computer background (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc…) and strong communication skills.
Preferred Requirements
Experience in a live production environment.
Familiarity with a server playback system and non-linear editing systems such as Quantel.
Candidates must have a good computer background (Outlook, ENPS, Word, Excel, etc…), including experience with computer network signal flow.
Understanding of server-based recording/playback, format conversions, EVS, transcoding systems and file formats.
Basic Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education
A College or Technical School degree in communications, electronics, television production or related field.
