Your New Role

As the Commercial Director you will develop, plan and implement strategies that align with WBD Tours and Retail global direction to promote retail growth.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Develop an 18-month rolling global trade calendar incorporating all commercial opportunities, franchise tentpole moments, product launches and market specific events.
  • Work with teams across tour locations, standalone stores, and E-commerce to develop consistent messaging, POS, pricing, promotions, and franchise celebrations across all markets.
  • Monitor and collaborate with the merchandise teams on stock covers, slow moving inventories, and top volume driving product.
  • Manage and drive KPI’s across all locations.
  • Assist in setting financial targets, budget development and monitoring KPIs .
  • Collaborate with Head office and Geo leadership on maintaining / exceeding KPI targets.
  • Manage relationships with key external partners.
  • Directly line manage the Visual Merchandise teams.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Detailed understanding of retail operations, finance, market conditions, sales tactics and reaction to market constraints and limitations.
  • Proven leadership experience and people development background within an international retail brand.
  • Ability to lead and drive multifaceted, multicultural teams across Europe, Asia and North America.
  • Geo Retail knowledge and marketplace mapping expertise.
  • Understanding of Omni Channel retail and different strategies to drive growth across all platforms through collaboration with Marketing, PR and Trade teams to develop foot traffic and revenue driving initiatives.
  • Ability to balance commercial drive while maintaining premium presentation of the brand in the marketplace.

Working Pattern

  • This role is full time (40 hours a week).  Due to the varied nature of visitor attractions and our retail sites this may include working across multiple time zones.  Our ideal candidate will manage their own time (and their teams), effectively and efficiently.
  • On occasion we may request working hours at weekends, on public or bank holidays, during school holidays and late evenings, to support our wider retail business.
  • Because we are agile, a high level of flexibility is required to suit the needs of the business.  This will include international travel, and store visits across our territories. 
  • As an ambassador for the business, the Commercial director will deputise for other Senior Management or SVP Retail on occasions.
Onsite Working - This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement, where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
