Overview:

Audacy’s Corporate Communications and PR team is in search of an experienced and dynamic Manager of Communications to lead and manage our external communications strategy. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Corporate Communications and PR, this role will be primarily responsible for strategically publicizing Audacy’s local market brands, content and talent, and its live event business. This role is essential for building equity across Audacy’s brand portfolio and amplifying its multiplatform content and experiences in the marketplace. The candidate will serve as a key member of a nimble Marketing & Communications department and will have executive exposure and ample growth opportunities.

Responsibilities:


What You'll Do:


  • Execute a comprehensive corporate communications strategy aligned with the company’s objectives and values for its broadcast and digital audio portfolio across its 47 local markets.
  • Implement communications discipline around the Company’s live events business, including pre-event, onsite and post-event publicity.
  • Create, edit and curate external media materials including press releases, news alerts, press room posts and media pitches to promote Audacy's business.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining bios for key Company leaders and talent.
  • Identify and execute strategic publicity opportunities for company stakeholders, including market and brand leadership and talent.
  • Support Audacy’s B2B social media strategy across platforms including X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram to enhance online visibility and brand amplification.
  • Provide crisis communication support at both corporate and local market levels.
  • Develop and maintain targeted media lists for various company announcements.
  • Cultivate relationships with key reporters across radio, podcasting, media, advertising, entertainment, tech and sports industries.
  • Monitor media coverage and prepare comprehensive recap reports to demonstrate the value of media engagement for the Company.
  • Support the Senior Director of Corporate Communications and PR.
  • Offer cross-support to internal communications team and other duties as assigned.

Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in corporate communications or public relations, preferably within the media industry.
  • Proven experience in managing external communication strategies and developing strategic communication plans.
  • Media relations experience required.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and content creation skills, including proficiency in crafting external communications materials.
  • Resourceful, proactive, and highly reliable multitasker committed to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Willing to travel. This role will require moderate travel throughout the year for onsite support at industry and company events.
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt efficiently in a fast-moving environment without compromising quality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within a team and maintain professional communication with clients.


Preferred:
  • Experience executing communications strategies and activations at live events, including red carpets and press rooms.
  • Sound understanding of the media landscape, particularly the radio, audio, and podcast industries.
  • Familiarity with media monitoring tools like MuckRack or Cision.
  • Basic knowledge of Google Drive, Docs, Slides and Sheets.
Additional Information:
Pay Transparency:

The anticipated starting salary range for New York City-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $65,000/yr-$75,000/yr.

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.
