About the Role & Program

Marvel Studios, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, is one of the world's most prominent character-based entertainment companies, built on a proven library of over 8,000 characters featured in a variety of media over 70 years!

As an intern on the Marvel legal team you will be working with in-house attorneys on groundbreaking entertainment, corporate, and intellectual property matters reporting to Associate Principal Counsel.

What You Will Do

  • Help to prepare talent deals across feature films, streaming shows, and animated productions

  • Draft above-the-line and below-the-line agreements for feature films, streaming series, and animated productions

  • Analyze various intellectual property rights, matters and clearance issues involving Marvel assets

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Prior internship at a film or entertainment company or law firm

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to handle and follow through on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent research skills; resourceful

  • Strong interpersonal skills and with ability to work independently

  • Demonstrate a high degree of discretion regarding sensitive/confidential information

Preferred Experience…

  • Completed classes in copyright, entertainment, or and intellectual property areas

Education

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited law school taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program

  • Completion of one or more years of law school in a current JD program at the start of the internship

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization

Additional Information

  • The approximate dates of this internship are May 2024 through August 2024

  • Able to work 40 hrs per week, Monday through Friday, 9am - 6pm PST

  • This is a remote position
