JOB TITLE: Director of Production

CHIEF OBJECTIVES OF THIS POSITION
The Director of Production leads the Production team by showing Initiative, coupled with a sense of competitive drive, and the ability to stay focused on results despite changing conditions to manage the team's workflow, schedule, and quality. The Director of Production is a member of the Leadership Team, and acts as the primary communication link between the Production team and the Sales team; the Production team and the Operations team; and the Production team and the Finance team. The job environment is flexible, and constantly changing and provides recognition and rewards for the achievement of business results.

General Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Production Department ensuring Company goals and departmental initiatives are achieved.
  • Assign projects to the Project Managers and Production Staff.
  • Track departmental KPI’s.
  • Review client-facing and internal contracts for accuracy and profitability.
  • Coordinates event production with the Operations team.
  • Oversee staffing for projects.
  • Oversee inventory optimization, purchasing, and sub-rentals for projects.

Budgetary:
  • Budgeting for the Production Department.
  • Profit & Loss of all projects passing through the Production Department.
  • Track actual expenses to budgeted expenses within the Production Department.
  • Control Event-related expenditures to maximize profit within each event without compromising quality.

Management:
  • Work with the production team to manage production workflow, schedule, and quality.
  • Monitor production activities and adjust the schedule to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Develop process improvements to optimize production speed and quality.
  • Decision-making is focused on implementing practical, timely solutions. The job requires getting things done quickly and handling a variety of activities.
  • Enforce production and quality standards.
  • Motivate team members to deliver exceptional work and exceed expectations.
  • Organize job training for team members to achieve business objectives.
  • Maintain all production-related documentation (SOPs).
  • Ensure that the final product meets quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Foment an inclusive culture within your department to promote teamwork, friendly competition, and the delivery of consistent service excellence to our customers.
  • Hold daily check-ins & weekly round-up meetings with staff to disseminate pertinent information and solicit feedback.
  • Coordinate staffing within Operations & Production Departments with an emphasis on budget control & service excellence.
  • A leadership style that is firm and goal oriented, and yet motivates, trains, and enthusiastically engages others is important.
  • The emphasis is on results and effective systems that achieve results through and with people, rather than on the details of implementation.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5 + years of experience in the event industry.
  • 3 + years of Experience managing a team.
  • Possess an undying will to please others.
  • A tireless work ethic.
  • The ability to manage many tasks with high attention to detail.
  • The ability to work on strict deadlines and in high-pressure situations.
  • A strategic thinker with a tactical approach to execution
