Position Summary
This position oversees the strategic direction of CMA’s international efforts. Working closely with the CEO, Board of Director’s Leadership, Board International Committee, and Industry Relations team, this position is responsible for developing and executing the CMA International strategy. This position will build and maintain strong relationships in Nashville and international music communities with emphasis on key markets around the globe.
This position is based in Nashville, TN and requires a minimum of 3 days of in-person work per week.

Essential Functions
- Work actively with CEO, Board of Directors, and Industry Relations team to develop and execute CMA’s International strategy
- Lead international task forces. Maintain updates and report to Board at regular intervals.
- Lead international staff member(s)
- Foster strategic relationships domestically
- Foster and deepen strategic relationships in key international markets
- Develop new growth strategies/tactics to expand measurable impact
- Work with industry contacts and CMA staff to develop and track key benchmarks/ROI metrics for CMA’s International strategy
- Oversee strategies for International TV distribution expansion
- Oversee current international events and initiatives to ensure they meet strategic objectives (ex: C2C partnership, reception hosting, etc.)
- Identify and strategically develop recommendations for new initiatives that support CMA’s international growth
- Develop relationships in new territories who can serve as a resource to CMA and the music industry. Develop on-the-ground/in-territory support and representation around new growth opportunities (ex: Brazil taskforce and industry hosting).
- Attend industry events and represent CMA at times as spokesperson, and speak on industry panels, etc.
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum fifteen years of international experience in the music or entertainment industry
- Strong international relationships in the music or entertainment industry
- Proven experience leading at a senior, strategic leadership level
- Current passport and willingness/ability to travel internationally and domestically as needed
- Experience working with Board of Directors
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Detail oriented with excellent follow up skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Creative insight, strong judgment, professionalism, integrity, and positive demeanor
- Ability to exercise discretion, use independent judgment, develop ideas, and make recommendations
