Job Summary

Director, Live Game Production will work with Sr. Director, Live Game Production, Content Leads, and remote production groups on planning, coordinating, and producing live NBA game broadcasts. Involvement in executing vision for full scope of game production from pre-production through game and post-production. Ensures broadcast standards are met and shares best practices across internal and external groups. Supervises NBA game production support staff and overall game operations. Works hand in hand with Sr. Director, Live Game Production to provide game coverage and production support as necessary. Reports to Associate Vice President, Live Game Production.


Major Responsibilities

  • Handles live game production planning details alongside Sr. Director, Live Game Production
  • Works with internal and external partners on planning, graphics, ad sales and trafficking, engineering, and programming
  • Responsible for overseeing live game coverage ensuring highest quality broadcasts, meeting all creative, editorial, and technical broadcast standards
  • Coordinate with content lead and live game producers on all content needs and editorial direction
  • Ensures live game producers have resources and assets necessary to produce successful game broadcasts
  • Liaison with contracted and third-party vendors as needed
  • Works with Next Gen Telecast leads to improve long-term enhancements of live game productions


Required Education/Professional Experience

  • Experience managing a large production staff
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in sports television production as a live Producer or Director
  • Expertise as a live game producer, ideally with basketball broadcasts


Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes

  • High level of sports production knowledge, specifically the NBA
  • Deep knowledge of NBA storylines, current and historical
  • Demonstrated leadership in progressively complex live event production and ability to impact content
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willing to travel to produce games as needed
  • Ability to work non-standard hours during sport season as necessary


Salary Range:
