Job Description
This position serves as a bridge between Southern Arizona communities, stakeholders, and AZPM, ensuring that important events, local stories, cultural moments, and public affairs discussions reach a wider audience through compelling content and memorable experiences. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to coordinate, curate, and produce events across multiple platforms, including live in-person events, training sessions, conferences, and media such as radio, television, digital streaming, and social media.

1. Project Development and Production:
- Collaborate with AZPM leadership to identify topics and projects suitable for public and media presentation.
- Research, identify, and support events, initiatives, and conversations that align with AZPM’s mission and strategic objectives, with the potential for broader distribution.
- Develop project concepts, write scripts, and create detailed rundowns, serving as the coordinating producer for special projects, including live and recorded events, town halls, panel discussions, and cultural programs.
2. Event Coordination and Media Integration:
- Stay informed on relevant issues and event opportunities, acting as AZPM’s liaison for national, regional, and local conferences and training opportunities.
- Oversee logistical planning and production details, including securing talent, venues, technical requirements, and event staffing.
- Collaborate with content, news, production, and marketing teams to adapt live events into engaging media content for broadcast, streaming, and social media distribution, ensuring high production quality in partnership with technical staff, including audio engineers, videographers, and digital content creators.
3. Project Management and Community Engagement:
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to meet deadlines and achieve strategic goals.
- Evaluate project success and impact using audience metrics, community feedback, and media reach.
- Represent AZPM at community meetings, industry conferences, and public events to strengthen partnerships and promote audience engagement.
- Work independently to deliver high-quality content that is accurate, fair, balanced, and professional, consistently meeting deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A bachelor’s degree in journalism, media production, communications, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience); and with five years of experience in journalism or broadcast production and/or experience with live event production.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
- Experience in coordinating technical teams, securing venues, and overseeing production logistics.
- Bilingual: English/Spanish.
- Proficiency with media production tools, including audio/video editing software and content management systems.
