JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

The NFL Media Group is seeking a Content Planning & Programming Associate within its Audience Development Group. This role requires an individual who has direct experience in Digital Media and Content Strategy with a solid understanding of the Sports League / Entertainment Media industry. The role will report to the Director of Content Strategy within the NFL Media Group and will work closely with many colleagues across the League and 32 Clubs in departments including NFL Network, Digital Media, Marketing, Communications and Business Development. This is a contract position based onsite at our Inglewood, CA office.

The Content Planning & Programming Associate is responsible for managing, tracking and measuring the implementation of the Club Media Group's content strategy, and managing content plans for NFL tentpole events and strategic initiatives. This position is also responsible for working as a key contributor on cross-functional teams, including but not limited to: NFL Digital Media Strategy and Platform Operations, Club and League Business Development, League Marketing, and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Have a detailed understanding and vision of content opportunities and operations in the digital media landscape (e.g., digital applications such as website and apps, streaming and VOD content access across connective devices) with the ability to help facilitate the promotion of content on multiple platforms
  • Review, analyze, and gain an understanding of major sports and digital trends, clubs, and best practices across the NFL targeted markets; proactively communicate these trends to the group and make recommendations as appropriate for new engagement tactics
  • Work directly with key platform partners (FAST, Podcasts, Digital, etc.) to determine priorities for success, including promotional plans, asset creation and trafficking, and campaign impact
  • Provide in-depth guidance, best practices, and workflow optimizations for all tent-pole events and strategic initiatives, and provide detailed pre and post analysis to continually improve content operations; comfortable and confident in presenting to senior leadership across League and Clubs
  • Actively develop internal and external relationships to help support strategic content opportunities
  • Support senior management in overall media strategy initiatives, including creation of comprehensive and cohesive presentations
  • Collaborate across various different groups including product development, analytics and research

Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years related professional experience within Digital Media, preferably with a Sports League or Entertainment Media company
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Exceptional presentation skills and public speaking expertise
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects
  • Knowledge of overall media landscape with direct experience in digital content and streaming media
  • Have a strong understanding of media trends, evolution of platforms/consumption, and understand the business dynamics/models of media properties
  • Proficiency in key department data and analytics platforms (e.g., Microsoft Excel and YouTube Analytics)
  • Deep understanding of YouTube Studio (Monetization, Channel strategy, Analytics dashboards)
  • Experience working closely with digital content (e.g., Episodic, Branded, Short-Form, Podcasts)
  • Familiarity with audience segmentation and digital platform distribution
  • An ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail while thinking strategically
  • Effectively communicate project status and properly manage to deadlines
  • Proven ability to think strategically and analytically
  • A team player who is capable of interacting and working cross-functionally in a multi-function organization
  • Fan of NFL

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • This job posting is for a position with one of the NFL's third-party agency partners that provides services to the NFL. The individual selected for this role will be an employee of that third-party agency and not the NFL. All compensation, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment are handled by the agency. The assignment to provide services to the NFL will be limited in duration but may be extended for an additional period by agreement between the NFL and the agency.

Salary / Pay Range
