Job Summary:

About the Role & Team 

Disney Television Animation is looking for a Location Designer to create environments and set designs for an unannounced Disney Junior series! 

What You Will Do 

  • Work closely with the Art Director and Location Design Lead to create scene set designs, floor plans, and orthographic designs with multiple angles as needed.
  • Review storyboard panels to create rough designs of backgrounds required for the episode. Review designs with Art director and Location Design Lead to address notes and revise designs as needed. Provide final clean version of approved design.
  • Resolve design problems with Supervisors.
  • Adhere to the production schedule provided by the Line Producer to ensure cost effective, timely production.
  • Additional duties as necessary, or as defined by individual contracts.

Required Qualifications & Skills 

  • A portfolio demonstrating knowledge of architecture, set design, perspective, and the understanding of the 3D dynamic space (foreground, middle ground, background), with an ability to align to the style and sensibility of the show.
  • Knowledge of drawing software including Photoshop, Illustrator, and 3D technology. 
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment 
  • Positive and flexible attitude 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience on a CG television animation production

Education 

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of experience and/or training.

The pay rate for this role in California is $56.88 to $60.33 per hour, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
