Job Summary:

The Vice President, Business Strategy & Planning will play a central role in establishing the key strategic priorities and initiatives for all lines of business and regions across Disney Consumer Products (DCP). The Vice President will partner with key leaders and stakeholders globally to identify, evaluate, and pursue opportunities, informed by deep qualitative and quantitative analyses. Those opportunities will include new business models, operating models, products and experiences, and other potential areas to drive long-term sustainable growth. The Vice President will be responsible for managing DCP’s annual Five-Year Plan process as well as the development of DCP’s Five-Year Plan. Additionally, and critically, this role will be responsible for leading the broader Business Planning team, including managing, and deploying resources appropriately. This role holds accountability for driving successful end-to-end completion of simple to complex project management and operations across all lines of business, various business models, regions, and functions for DCP. This role will also drive ongoing automation, process improvement and optimization for operations across the lines of business to ensure teams are operating effectively and efficiently. This role will have a high degree of responsibility to understand, articulate and to execute upon key strategic DCP initiatives and projects while serving as the as a trusted advisor to the DCP President and executive leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the DCP President and leadership team with facilitating the execution of organizational priorities through coordination, communications, and detailed project management. 

  • Set direction and drive creative solutions to ensure business objectives are being met against the strategic vision. 

  • Lead operational integrations, activations, solutions, and strategic initiatives with a global mindset for DCP.

  • Proactively identify and evaluate strategic, operational, and other opportunities in collaboration with key leaders and stakeholders across DCP and The Walt Disney Company

  • Recruit, inspire and develop a diverse high performing, collaborative team that can engage broadly across the organization to develop strategic priorities and initiatives.

  • Develop supporting analyses, including financial/analytical models to evaluate and support potential strategic opportunities (e.g. new business models, geographic expansion, category white space)

  • Create compelling, persuasive presentation materials to communicate key recommendations to senior level executives.

  • Follow-up as needed on strategic opportunities and initiatives to ensure appropriate operationalization and execution.

  • Create a workplace environment that encourages collaboration and innovative/creative thinking.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10+ years of post-MBA professional experience in strategic consulting, investment banking, or business planning and analysis

  • Demonstrated experience leading teams successfully including prioritizing work and driving high level output.

  • Strong broad based business acumen with ability to identify and plan for long term strategic growth while delivering on nearer term revenue targets.

  • Big picture thinker with innate curiosity to explore the unknown and challenge the status quo; provide structure and direction when it doesn’t exist.

  • Proven experience building critical partnerships in a matrix/cross cultural/media organization and driving collaboration at all levels across an organization and with external partners.

  • Strong strategic, critical thinking and financial modeling skills, with an ability to solve complex problems (prioritization, critical thinking, hypothesis creation, etc.)

  • Proven strong data analysis skills, including competitive analysis, with the ability to transform findings into easy-to-understand visual narratives that clearly articulate strategy, drive new initiatives, or communicate value propositions and tangible next steps to stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to think pragmatically, not just theoretically, and drive execution of concepts.

  • Proven ability to be resourceful, decisive, confident under pressure, and comfortable working in a fast paced, growth-oriented, environment.

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills and executive presence; strong storytelling abilities.

  • Tenacious leader with unwavering integrity and the ability to influence without authority.

The hiring range for this position is $251,400 to $307,200. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
