Weekend Meteorolgist / MMJ

WOAY-TV is looking for a motivated team player to join us as a Weekend Meteorologist and weekday MMJ.

Weekend Meteorology duties include forecasting, creating graphics and maps, presenting clear and concise weather forecasts, and writing weather stories. You will work with producers to determine relevant weather-related content for shows. You will also issue warnings and alerts as received from the National Weather Service and utilize social media during severe weather. WSI Max experience is a plus.

Multimedia Journalist duties require you to report, shoot, write, and edit stories. You will be expected to produce content for a variety of platforms including our website, social media, and mobile app, in addition to television. Factual research, source development, and finding leads is crucial, in addition to being flexible to work assigned shifts.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in meteorology or other related field. Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial. You must be able to prioritize, work well independently, have strong organizational skills, handle time constraints, and meet deadlines.
