About the Role & Team

The Disneyland Resort Revenue Management & Analytics/Finance organization combines strategic and analytical thinking to drive commercial, financial, and operational value for Disney Parks by shaping business decisions in Ticketing, Resorts, Merchandise, Food & Beverage, as well as all other lines of business in the core proficiencies of yield management, forecasting, pricing, promotions, optimization, and other predictive analytic techniques using mathematical and statistical approaches.

We are seeking someone who is results oriented, able to prioritize, and be a great teammate in a collaborative environment. The candidate will have strong communication, partnering, and proven experience with statistical/data science modeling, data visualization, and data manipulation.

This role reports to the Manager – Theme Park Yield Optimization.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will be a key player in our data analytics and yielding efforts, using analytics to optimize revenue and define our long-term revenue management strategies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze and visualize data, transforming it into actionable insights and recommendations.   • Business Goal Achievement: Inform optimal inventory allocations and strategies by measuring the success of past decisions and providing science-based and actionable insights on future opportunities; develop new tools and techniques to better manage day-to-day inventory allocation to ensure we are meeting company goals.

  • Data Visualization: Create and maintain data visualization dashboards using Tableau or similar tools to deliver insights and enable internal efficiencies; present complex findings in clear business terms to facilitate acceptance and execution by business partners and senior executives; design and build dashboards to monitor and track performance of data science models

  • Data Management: Develop and maintain SQL queries and scripts for data analysis and reporting (join tables, group and sort data, and pull relevant information from multiple data sources); continuously monitor data quality and proactively address data-related issues, develop, and optimize data processes and workflows.

  • Predictive Analysis & Advanced Modeling: Leverage mathematical and statistical techniques to develop predictive models that improve demand forecasts and prescriptive models that inform business decisions.

  • Product Management & Ownership: Plan, initiate, and manage collaborative technology projects to drive business value and optimize inventory; work closely with cross-functional teams to define vision and requirements, coordinate resources, and help guide a team through key turning points.

  • Partner Collaboration: Liaise between Revenue Management and Data Science Partners to develop, maintain, and improve products and tools that help to deliver accretive business results. Collaborate within Revenue Management and across the organization (Commercial, Operations, Pricing, Finance, Forecasting, Industrial Engineering, and Technology & Digital) to foster a deep understanding of partners and the business

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 2+ years of work experience in statistical, business analytics, data science, and/or strategy development

  • Skilled in storytelling through data integration and visualization– professional experience with one or more data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).

  • Proficiency in acquiring and manipulating large amounts of data, applying advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including VBA) and using scripting languages (SQL, python, etc.).

  • Excellent data analysis skills with an eye towards identifying business trends to turn into actionable insights

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to shift between technical and non-technical terminology depending on the audience.

  • Proven problem-solving, creative thinking, and partnering skills.

  • Ability to meet deadlines, balance multiple priorities, and perform job responsibilities accurately.

  • Employ a strategic approach to influence organizational decisions on broader ideas and objectives.

  • Strong sense of responsibility, ownership, and pride in delivering quality results and understanding the business impact.

  • Relationship and communication skills to effectively build partnerships, including asking questions to gain understanding and influence others with differing points of view.

  • Experience in approaching opportunities with a positive approach.

  • Support for park yield strategy in real-time along our park operating hours, which includes occasional remote coverage during weekends, holidays, and outside business hours

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related quantitative field

  • Proven experience using statistical modeling, optimization, or data science techniques to drive business decisions and to advise new methodologies to steer strategy – hands-on experience with one or more modeling tools (R, Python, etc.)

  • Prior experience with pricing, revenue management, and/or forecasting.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Econometrics, or other quantitative fields

The hiring range for this position in California is $113,600 to $138,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
