Job Summary/Description:

Gray Digital Media is in search of a Sr. Manager/Director of Programmatic Media Buying to help lead Gray's third-party programmatic offerings and provide thought leadership in the programmatic space, both internally and externally. This role works closely with Sr. Director of Digital Operations and leads a team charged with the development of programmatic tactics across all channels including but not limited to display, video, audio, connected TV, and more.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited, to):

  • Act as the top domain expert in leading programmatic platforms and establish best practices both internally and externally to ensure seamless campaign activation and performance.
  • Manage a team of programmatic and digital practitioners with a focus on leading, delegating, and prioritizing team deliverables, encouraging individual growth across the team.
  • Ensure the team follows a defined process for campaign management across programmatic channels, including excellent hands-on key activation work.
  • Advanced knowledge of negotiating and implementing private marketplace deals (PMPs).
  • Manage key departmental project initiatives that have a strategic and organizational-wide impact, which includes piloting new test programs and rolling out successful pilot programs to the broader programmatic team.
  • Manage communication and requests from individual TV stations.
  • Identify gaps in process or strategic vision, lead the charge on developing solutions, and enacting change within the organization.
  • A go-to resource for the strategic programmatic and omnichannel consult, developing ongoing materials and training to improve internal team capabilities as well as providing guidance on any given account for higher-level channel strategy
  • Leverage and maintain strong relationships with partners, and remain up to date on platforms and their offerings.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 3+ years leading a team of programmatic media buyers.
  • 5+ years of digital marketing experience in programmatic media (display, video, audio, DOOH, streaming TV).
  • Demonstrated ability to create analyses that move beyond an explanation of 'what happened' to 'why it happened' and 'what should be done'
  • Extensive hands-on experience working within self-serve programmatic DSPs, including The Trade Desk. The Trade Desk Edge Academy is certified and experienced in Kokai.
  • Experience recommending attribution models and lookback windows, familiar with nuances of attribution between media platforms and how programmatic media influences other media, as well as Google Analytics 4.
  • Vast network of media partner relationships across all aforementioned channels. Experience identifying partners, comparing offerings, creating deal IDs & negotiating rates.
  • Confident in collaborating with others and creating an environment to welcome others' ideas.
  • Bachelor's Degree or 10+ years of relevant work experience in digital marketing.
