POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will report to the General Manager, Video Content and Video Production and will be responsible for planning and creating short form video, graphics, and other digital content to support USYS programming, supporting website asset and content updates, executing and monitoring social media, generating ideas/concepts/copy for content tied to programming, and helping with partner/sponsor marketing execution. The goal is to support the communication and marketing of various USYS programming and resources to elevate the USYS brand.
This will be a dynamic role and will help set the tone and direction of the USYS brand. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conceptualizes, plans, and executes digital content for USYS programs and initiatives (Cup competitions, referees, ODP, National League, etc.)
  • Compiles existing assets to package as digital content including archival photos and video.
  • Physically attends key regional and national programs and events, which may include weekends, in support of programming.
  • Plans and posts content to USYS social media channels with an emphasis on visually striking graphics and engaging video content.
  • Works with General Manager of Video & Content Production on short- and long-term video projects.
  • Interfaces and collaborates with State Associations to share and improve marketing materials and execution.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES

  • Two to three years working in a related field for a sports property, entertainment property, ad agency, publisher or related field. Will consider equivalent college experience as demonstrated by portfolio provided.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Experience with digital photography and videography including DSLR/mirrorless cameras, GoPro style cameras, and phone-based photo/video.
  • Experience with creative tools including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and other video creation and editing tools.
  • Familiarity with social media tools and trends with a focus on graphic and video content for platforms including Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and others.
  • Experience with leveraging various tools to manage and maintain a marketing and communications platform.
  • Capable of supporting multiple projects and deadlines with the ability to meet changes and sudden interruptions with a can-do attitude.
  • Must be a collaborative team member willing to provide support when and where needed.
  • Solid communication skills that engender positive outcomes and elevate team performance.
  • Bilingual language skills are a plus.
